We aren't born special. We build ourselves through hard things.
The Journey: From Transition to Transformation
We often think of our “identity” as something we are born with or something we find. My journey so far taught me otherwise.
In March 2025, I moved from France to Singapore. I found myself suspended between cultures, languages, and ways of life. Anthropologists call this liminality – the “in-between” state where you are no longer your old self, but you haven’t yet reached the new one.
It is an uncomfortable, blurry, and often lonely place. But it is also the only place where real growth can happen
Choosing the Hard Path
During my time exploring Asia and immersing myself in the world of Muay Thai, I realized that the most vibrant people are those who choose to do hard things.
I started this blog because I wanted to explore a simple truth: Anyone can become “special”, and being special is a byproduct of resistance and resilience.
We build our identities by:
- Intention: Not letting life just “happen” to us.
- Hardship: Voluntarily facing challenges that demand we grow.
- Place: Understanding how the environments we choose – and the gyms we train in- shape our souls
More than a Gym, a Laboratory
This site is the foundation for my future martial art gym. But it isn’t just about learning to strike; it’s about learning to be.
I write to encourage you, but also to hold myself accountable. This is a bridge between the Western and Eastern perspectives on self-mastery. It’s a place for the seekers, the displaces, and the disciplined.
We are all works in progress. Let’s be intentional about what we are building
